The Wyoming lemon law in detailWyoming’s lemon law, section 40-17-101 of the Wyoming Statutes, read in the title published by the legislature on November 1, 2026, protects a new motor vehicle for one year from delivery. The defect must be reported in that year. The text speaks of a defect repaired “more than three times”, so the fourth attempt meets the test; the other route is 30 business days out of service. If the manufacturer has an informal dispute procedure that complies with the federal rules, the owner must exhaust it before suing. The section sets no separate filing deadline that we could find; other Wyoming time limits on warranty claims may apply. Keep the repair orders: they are the only record of the count.

A short Wyoming statute
Wyoming’s whole lemon law fits in one section, and it leaves much to the warranty and to the manufacturer’s procedure. The one-year period has no mileage limit, which helps owners who drive long distances.
Because the procedure must be exhausted first, the 40-day decision rule of the federal regulation matters in Wyoming: a program that does not decide in time cannot hold up the claim. The title is linked below as a PDF from the legislature.
